From the VCA to the Oscars: meet film and television alumna Polly Staniford.

Polly Staniford is an award-winning producer and writer, and half of the creative partnership behind the Sydney-based production company Aquarius Films, which co-produced the multi award-winning film Lion, starring Nicole Kidman and Dev Patel, which was nominated for six Oscars in 2017. Aquarius Films also produced the psychological thriller Berlin Syndrome, which premiered at Sundance in 2017.

Staniford graduated from the Bachelor of Film and Television (now the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film and Television) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2007, and the Master of Screenwriting in 2015. In this video she talks about her career, and what she learnt from her time at the VCA.
